Short answer: apply for an education loan once you have your offer letter. Banks and NBFCs generally need KYC, academic records, admission proof, a cost-of-study estimate and co-applicant income documents; collateral requirements depend on the loan amount and lender.
Typical documents
- Student and co-applicant KYC (Aadhaar, PAN, passport)
- Admission / offer letter and fee structure
- Academic marksheets and test scores
- Co-applicant income proof (salary slips / ITR / bank statements)
- Collateral documents if applicable
Process
- Compare lenders for interest rate, processing fees, moratorium and eligible expenses.
- Submit application and documents.
- Bank verification and sanction letter.
- Use the sanction letter in your visa file where required.
- Disbursement – often directly to the university in stages.
We help you organise documents and liaise with lenders, but approval and terms are decided by the lender. See scholarships & loans support.
